Home!

We decided to take a chance and headed home this afternoon. We made it in a little under 3 hours - wouldn't want to travel some of the roads again anytime soon!
Not many people were around the Conference today - only those who had no choice and had to stay. But, there were several that stopped by our table, pulled up chairs and sat and visited. Helped the time to go faster.
Glad to be home and now I am ready to head to California!!!!! :)

Tuesday in Columbus

We are pretty much iced in here! We have already checked and if we can't leave tomorrow we can stay here again at the Crowne Plaza. The ice is to turn to snow tonight.
We had a great day at the Conference. Working the Renaissance booth was a good experience. Got to talk to a lot of people and realized that our presentation made an impact on several. Picked up lots of fun freebies today - when we got back to our room and I dumped my bag it covered the entire bed!
Tomorrow we have to be set up and ready to go by 9:00 a.m. Could be a long day.
We went to Max & Erma's to eat and the waiting line was unbelievable. Someone said 1 1/2 hours - but no where else to go. So, we came back to our room and called for take out at Max & Erma's - that will only take 1/2 hour. :-)

I am writing this from Columbus - wireless in the hotel room. :) Our presentation went real good - Jill did a great job. We spent a couple hours working the Renaissance Booth then headed to the awards ceremony for Jill. After that the Renaissance rep took us to Max and Erma's for dinner.
A little worried about the weather - there is a winter storm warning for Columbus. It was supposed to start tonight - but looks like it has been moved back. Just hope it is over with and out of here by Wednesday at 2:00!
Tomorrow we are working the Renaissance Booth from 10:30 - 4:30. I have a session I want to go to at 3:30 so I will get the last hour off.
Wednesday we are having a Teacher Display from 10 - 1:00.

weigh-in

Sad to report that I gained 1/2 pound this week. I know why - I didn't exercise every day! We are taking a month off since I will be in Columbus Mon. - Wed. next week and we like to hit the hot spot restaurants while we are there! Then Barb is going to her mom's and I will be heading for California. Next weigh in won't be so good, I'm afraid!

cold day off number 2

Another day at home! When I got up at 8:00 it was -4. Now it is 10:00 and it is 7. Windchill is -8, I guess. From what I understand the problem is the busses - the fuel they use gets "gunky" in weather this cold. And some of them won't start to begin with. Will be ready to get back in the swing of things tomorrow - so hope it warms up - at least to 3 or 4 overnight! :)

cold day off

No school today - the temperatures are dangerously low. Right now the outdoor thermometer says 0.0 degrees. Guess the wind chill is -16. Would be really bad if a bus broke down. And then there are the kids that still don't wear coats, REALLY! Last Wednesday when the kids were going from the school to the church the teachers told them they had to wear a coat and one boy only had a sweatshirt. So sad. I think it was the same boy whose mom emailed me one morning a couple of weeks ago asking what he had wore to school that day! :-(

We picked Wilma up at the airport last night. So good to have her home! Wasn't it nice to greet her with this cold, cold weather? When the air hit exposed areas it actually felt like it was burning!

So, today I hope to clean the house and catch up on the ironing.

I know you are all anxious for today's weigh-in results. (That was a joke!) Carol lost 1.25 pounds - so her total in 4 weeks is 5.25. Barb would not want me to say how she did.
