conference week

Busy week......again! Left Sunday afternoon for Columbus to attend a SmartEd/Mac Conference. We are trying to decide which interactive whiteboard we want in our school next year. The Conference was great - we (two teachers went with me) all learned SO much. You know - one of those Conferences where your head hurts when you leave because of all the information.
The SmartEd people were so kind and attentive. After all the sessions on Monday the SmartBoard/Mac Guru met with us and gave us a 1 1/2 hour private session. He was awesome and we learned more from him in those 1 1/2 hours than the previous 3 hours of training we have had. While the Guru and I were in the hallway waiting to get into our room at the end of the day a gentleman walked up to us.....I was introduced to the vice-president of SmartEd. He was aware that our school was in the process of decision making and gave me his card and asked that I call or email him to keep him up to date on our decision. It was great to get so much attention since we are such a small school and definitely a very small account for SmartEd - but that didn't matter to them. Very reassuring.
And.....have you heard about the Smart Table? We received a special showing of the only one available in North America right now. Very cool for the younger kids!
Of course - when you miss two days of school the remainder of the week is spent trying to catch up! TGIF was especially true this week!
